Personal Messages from Designers to Customers

Hello Designers,We recently added the ability to display a personalized message when customers interact with your products or stores! This will come in the form of a brief message which will be displayed in highly visible areas of an existing Zazzle page. Currently, we’ll be displaying a unique message any time a customer interacts in these ways:- When a customer follows your store- When a customer adds one of your products to their cart- When a customer purchases one of your productsYou can personalize these messages in your member profile’s Advanced Settings page.In this section you will be able to enter in a short message for each of the four events listed above - or feel free to utilize what is already included. These messages will then be showcased automatically to customers, with no further action needed from you. We are doing all the heavy lifting so you can more seamlessly create impactful connections with those who are purchasing from your store.One important item to remember is that we automatically add a greeting to the beginning of the message. This means that each message will always start with “Hi Customer!,” with the customer’s first name added in automatically. We wanted to incorporate the customer’s first name into the messaging, and doing this requires a bit of work from our end. Product Price Drop!

We made this change in order to continue to stay competitive amongst retailers with similar products and pricing. We know these product types are trendy, and we’re thrilled to give them more attention. Update to Content Policy - Violence has no value here

This past week the world witnessed the crossing of the line- where democratic freedom of expression transgressed into a call for violence and mayhem. At Zazzle, our belief in creative expression is equally supported by values of integrity and heart. We do not tolerate or accept hate. Zazzle cannot allow for content that is patently harmful and inaccurate to exist on our site. As a result we have made the decision to take down all current and future messaging and designs brought to our attention that suggests or implies that the 2020 Presidential Election was rigged or stolen, or riddled with voter fraud.As an open marketplace, we firmly believe in freedom of expression. We embrace our members’ creativity and their enthusiasm for their passions, but we choose not to display content that perpetuates false information and/or may incite violence. Designer Announcement About Cancelled and Late Orders

Dear Designers,During these past few months, we’ve gone through many changes as individuals, as communities and as countries.As a business, Zazzle adapted quickly to the shift in consumer demand by launching and making new product types, finding new shipping partners and manufacturers, optimizing our site to address these changes, and much more.Unfortunately, with these changes have come some challenges. In particular, we’ve experienced delays in production and shipping times coupled with obstacles in quality control combined with supply chain disruptions. These challenges have impacted several high-demand products, in particular our face mask and puzzle product types.The following is a recap of the specific challenges for those two product types that we have shared directly with those impacted:Face masks: What happenedEach face mask is made on demand and with care in our manufacturing facilities. We’ve been faced with the harsh realities of safely reviving our manufacturing and ensuring our teams are safe and able to continue working while following social distancing rules.No matter how much planning and elbow grease we have put into the process of making these face masks, we are experiencing delays ­ whether it is the additional time needed for safe conditions, or with our shipping partners getting the raw materials to us.Puzzles: What happenedOur longtime puzzle manufacturer was severely impacted as a result of COVID. The factory was shut down for several weeks, and upon re-opening, its daily capacity was significantly reduced due to the implementation of the required safety measures.During this period, we also tried several different fulfillment alternatives but the quality of the puzzles from other facilities was not up to Zazzle standards, and not something we would be proud of delivering to our valued customers.All this occurred at a time where we experienced an unprecedented volume of puzzle orders, which made the situation even more challenging.Both of these product manufacturing issues have resulted in longer than usual wait times for our Customer Care lines. This, in turn, has resulted in an overflow of customers asking you, our Designers, for assistance. We appreciate your patience and support as we get caught up.Due to these challenges, and with our Customers’ best possible experience in mind, we had to make some tough decisions and offer to our Customers the ability to easily cancel their orders that were not up to our standards on shipping time or quality. If you are a face mask or puzzle Designer, you may see a higher than normal number of cancellations come through in the next few days and we truly apologize for that.Please know that we are deeply committed to gaining the trust back of our Customer and Designer community and are working tirelessly to increase production and find new fulfilment and shipping partners.In the next few weeks, you will notice that our in and out of stock product list will be very fluid as we shift our production efforts to product types that have the potential of experiencing delays. We hope that this change, along with many others, will make us more adaptable and allow us to bounce back quickly and thrive even more in the future.We understand the concerns overcoming these challenges presents to you, our valued Designers, and to our extended Customer community. Changes to our User Agreement and Policies

As an ongoing commitment to your satisfaction with all things Zazzle, we're making you aware of updates to the User Agreement that go into effect on November 22, 2019, which governs the usage of our Site.Below are some of the highlights:Digital Content Creation and Usage:Zazzle is expanding its definition of Content to include digital Content. Digital Content enables Users the ability to create a design and use it out in the world without having to add the design to a physical Product on the Zazzle platform. Zazzle Create, our new tool for creating digital Content, will drive potential new Users to the Site to create everything from digital invites and cards to Facebook® banners and Snapchat® templates.Zazzle Create & Royalties:We've been working with a test group of Designers to populate the Create design tool with Digital Designs and Secondary Content. We will be expanding the number of Designers who can contribute to the Zazzle Create design tool in the near future. If you'd like to be a part of this opportunity, please apply here.Digital Content is free for users to download, but every Designer who contributed to a design that is featured on a physical Product will receive compensation. Dearest Designers,Would you like to increase your sales in the Zazzle Marketplace? If yes, then we've got an exciting announcement for you! Today we're launching Zazzle Chat, which is a much improved, real-time communication tool for you to chat with customers. We've run the numbers, and our research shows that customers are 10x (ten times!) more likely to buy your product after they've communicated with you. It also makes Zazzle more fun and engaging for all.Our top 3 reasons why this is super exciting:1) Again, you'll make more money by connecting directly with customers!2) Customers will be delighted to hear from you, they'll buy more often and return more frequently.3) We're collectively getting hip to marketplaces like Airbnb and Etsy, which have similar messaging defaulted on for all users.As we introduce this functionality, we also want to be very clear about the guidelines, as we believe Zazzle should be a safe and friendly place for everybody in the community. In general, just use good judgement and be kind. Customers often use Zazzle for their most important life events, and your products really matter to make them special. While there is no opt-out functionality, again similar to other mainstream communities and marketplaces, it's certainly up to you whether you choose to respond to your messages. We, of course, highly encourage you as it can lead to greater sales and happier customers! And back to being kind, we'd really appreciate you not leaving any customers hanging :)What if somebody is bugging me?If anybody is actually messaging in a harassing manner or sending any inappropriate messages, that is not tolerated and there is an option to block that specific individual by clicking on the "Info" button in the message thread. Please also report any such violation of our User Agreement to our Customer Care team and we will follow protocol to prevent such violations in the future by emailing community@zazzle.com.Do I need to be online all the time to use this feature? Is it a live chat or a messaging?It's messaging functionality similar to Facebook messaging. While you don't have to chat with customers in real-time, it is absolutely possible to chat live with someone, and it's also encouraged as it's far more engaging for customers. There's an inbox you can access from the Chat icon in the header where you can view your all your unread and read messages. You can also Chat on the go via the latest version of the Zazzle App (available in both the App Store and Google Play).

Grouping of Design Objects

You can now group design objects by multi-selecting objects and clicking on the group icon at the top bar. We hope you find this useful as you design more complex products.We've also added keyboard shortcuts: SHIFT + G to group and SHIFT + COMMAND + G to ungroup.Suggested Use:During the process of creating multi-element designs often you want to keep elements together in order to move, resize, and rotate them. Without grouping you have to select all the elements every time you wanted to adjust them. Using grouping you can select the elements once, group them, and then more easily select them all again later.However, we do not recommend you publish the products with the elements grouped as it may be more difficult for a customer to customize your design.Notes:Please note that at the moment for this first version, you cannot nest groups within each other.We will continue to refine grouping behavior to make it easier for customers to interact with grouped elements.
