Show your pride in your heritage when you display this wonderful trinket box in your home. Also known as the Saint Andrew's Cross or the Saltire (Bratach na h-Alba in Scottish Gaelic), the “Banner O’ Scotland” is a white, X-shaped St. Andrew’s cross (St. Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland) on a deep blue background which represents the sky above a 9th-century battle where a white saltire supposedly appeared and roused the troops to a decisive victory over the Angles. I've added the red lion rampant (standing with claws unsheathed) taken from the Scottish Royal Standard for an extra pop of color. This box is wonderful on a desk storing rubber bands or paper clips or a roll of stamps, on a bedside table to hold your earrings or rings, or anywhere you want a touch of Scotland. For a box with the Royal Standard of Scotland on it (yellow ground with a red lion), or other Scottish motifs, see the "Celtic/British Isles" section of my store or my Collection, "Scotland Forever." Alba gu bràth!
